March 5, 2012 Scorpio arrived i Galle, Sri Lanka, after an uneventful crossing. However, there was very little wind and we motored for 98% of the 9 days! February 25, 2012 Scorpio departed from Phuket, Thailand, on her third crossing of the Bay of Bengal; on the first leg of her crossing from South East Asia to South Africa, where she should arrive before the end of 2012. February 9, 2012 Scorpio returns to Phuket from a return trip to Langkawi, Malaysia. December 9, 2011 Scorpio is back in the water. May 9, 2011 Scorpio was hauled out at Boat Lagoon for part 2 of her extensive refit. April 2, 2011 We arrived in Phuket, Thailand after a return trip to the Maldives. March 20, 2011 We left Male, Capital of the Maldives, and are sailing back to Phuket. February 7, 2011 A dramatic change of plans: due to the increased piracy activity in the Arabian Sea we have aborted our passage to the Mediterranean. We will be returning to Thailand within two months. January 27, 2011 We arrived at Uligan, in the Maldives, first stop on our way to the Mediterranean Sea. January 15, 2011 We departed from Phuket, heading for the Mediterranean. First stop will be at Uligan in the Northern Maldives, 1,550 nm from Thailand. September 28, 2010 The crew is back in Phuket to finish all the major boat projects undertaken. We will stay at a hotel for several weeks until the work is done. April 17, 2010 Scorpio was hauled out at Boat Lagoon a few days ago, and will stay there for several months while the crew today flew to Finland for a vacation, away from messin' about in a yacht in the tropics. March 12, 2010 The crew embarked on a two-week Indochinan road trip, heading for Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Northern Thailand. December 26, 2009 The fifth anniversary of the Boxing Day tsunami. We are celebrating Christmas at Nai Harn Beach. December 19, 2009 We cleared in to Thailand in Ao Chalong, Phuket. October 16, 2009 We cleared in to Malaysia at Admiral Marina in Port Dickson. September 30, 2009 Scorpio arrived in Singapore at Raffles Marina. July 20, 2009 We arrived in Saumlaki on the island of Yamdena in the Tanimbar islands, Indonesia. July 13, 2009 We are back on board preparing to sail to Indonesia May 23, 2009 The crew flew to Finland for a 6 week vacation. May 17, 2009 Scorpio arrived in Darwin. May 9, 2009 We finally reached the top of Australia rounding Cape York on our way to Darwin. February 2, 2009 An executive decision is made: we will be leaving Oz to port. Today we start sailing north again along Australia's east coast. December 27, 2008 We made it to Sydney just in time for the famous "world's greatest" fireworks. November 18, 2008 We arrived in Australia and have thus now completed our crossing of the Pacific. It took us 3.5 years, which is more than most cruisers use for a complete circumnavigation. September 8, 2008 Scorpio arrived in Resolution Bay at the island of Tanna in Vanuatu. June 21, 2008 We flew to Finland for an 8 weeek vacation, leaving Scorpio in Vuda Marina on the west coast of Fiji. May 21, 2008 We arrived in Savu Savu, on the island of Vanua Levu in Fiji after a trip from New Zealand that lasted 8 days 18 hours. May 12, 2008 Scorpio cleared out of New Zealand and headed for Fiji, 1200 nm to the north. April, 2008 We are in Opua, Bay of Islands, installing a second autopilot. March, 2008 We made a 14 days, 4000 km journey by car on the South Island. December 23, 2007 We finally sailed from Whangarei, after major refits, but our windlass broke down, so we had to return again, 3 days later. November 1, 2007 The crew is back aboard, preparing the boat for a new season. May 1, 2007 Scorpio is left stored at a shipyard in Whangarei for 6 months, during the crew's vacation in Finland. April, 2007 Scorpio was hauled out and her diesel engine is completely rebuilt. November 7, 2006 We arrived in New Zealand at Opua on the North Island after a trip of 8 days from Nukualofa in Tonga. October 2, 2006 Scorpio arrived in Niuatoputapu, one of the northernmost islands of the Kingdom of Tonga. September 25 , 2006 We arrived in Apia, Western Samoa. September 14 , 2006 We anchored at Suwarow, Cook Island, in the atoll made famous by hermit Tom Neale. August 24 , 2006 The crew returned to Scorpio on Raiatea, only to find that our new Yamaha 15 hp outboard had been stolen! May 28, 2006 Scorpio is hauled out at Raiatea and will stay on the hard until the end of August during the crew's vacation in Finland. May 3, 2006 We arrived in Tahiti. On the way from the Marquesas to the Society Islands we spent a week in Tuamotu, the worlds largest archipelago of atolls. March 28, 2006 We arrived in
the Marquesas Islands after a comfortable passage of 21 days 15
hours and 45 minutes from Isla Isabela in the Galapagos Islands. January 11, 2006 Scorpio arrived in

the mainland of Ecuador with destination: GALAPAGOS. September 3, 2005 The crew is back on the yacht. We will stay in La Libertad for a couple of weeks for yearly over-haul. June 1, 2005 Scorpio was left on the hard in Puerto Lucia Marina, La Libertad, Ecuador, during the crew's vacation in Finland from June to September. May 27, 2005 We crossed the Equator! May 3-4, 2005 We transited the Panama Canal! April 10, 2005 Scorpio arrived in Colon, at the entrance to the Panama Canal. Our transit to the Pacific Ocean will be on April 29-30. March 18, 2005 We arrived in Cartagena, Colombia. This is the 60th country or autonomous island we have visited on Scorpio. February 15, 2005 Today we sailed in to Port Antonio, Jamaica December 14, 2004 Scorpio arrived today in Varadero, Cuba September 22, 2004 Scorpio has returned to her natural environment. She was launched today. Unfortunately Malla fell on her bike a week ago and broke a collar bone, so we will wait a couple of days until the pain has gone, before setting sail. But it will take up to 8 weeks before it has healed completely. Also we are keeping an eye on Hurricane Jeanne, which may be heading this way. May 21, 2004 Scorpio was hauled out at Deltaville, Virginia, USA N 37°33.6'; W 76°18.5' February 8, 2004 Our plans have changed, Panama has got to wait for next year - we are now sailing back to the Chesapeake Bay.
